Two alleged drug traffickers have drowned off the coast of Sotogrande, and another person was found suffering from severe hypothermia as the Guardia Civil broke up a drug running operation off the luxury urbanisation on Tuesday.It’s thought the three were trying to bring some 350 kilos of hashish onto the Spanish coast. The survivor was first spotted walking along the coast in wet clothes, and a further search revealed the 7 meter semi-rigid boat containing the drug in 11 bales. The first body, carrying Moroccan documents, was a few metres away and the second was found on Wednesday morning some 400m from the Tiburón beach.On Tuesday afternoon Guardia Civil officers patrolling the coast in Sotogrande came across a disorientated Moroccan man walking around in wet clothes. Officers suspected that the man had recently disembarked from a boat and set about searching the area. They found a seven metre long boat in the mouth of the Guadiaro river and discovered the dead body of another Moroccan citizen floating in the water some metres away. It appears that the strong tide and the eleven packets of hashish on board, which weighed some 350 kilos in total, made the boat capsize.After a more in-depth search of the coast, the Guardia Civil found the body of a second person at 9 o'clock on Wednesday morning some 400 metres from the Tiburón beach. The authorities are trying to identify the victim.

Seven properties in Sotogrande siezed

Seven properties in Sotogrande belonging to people or companies forming part of the investigation in to corruption being carried out by Spanish High Court judge Baltasar Garzón have been impounded. Francisco Correa, the suspected mastermind in the scam which has engulfed the Partido Popular, was arrested last Friday at his Sotogrande home and transferred by police to Madrid.

National Police has been involved 600 kilograms of hashish hidden in cans of petrol in a pleasure boat moored Dutch flag in the marina of Sotogrande, Cadiz who had as the final destination Palma. Investigators found out that the group had intended to transport a large quantity of the drug until a marina on the island of Mallorca, but due to technical problems, they decided to divert its route to Sotogrande. Responsible for transporting the drug from Tangiers, aboard the yacht 'Sea Pilot' with a Dutch flag and 11 meters in length, were arrested RB and R.G.F. Departed from the port of Cadiz in the early months and 18 days the researchers found the boat and its occupants on his return to Spain, which established a monitoring device. Days later showed how one of the crew, of Dutch nationality, got inside the boat three containers of 25 liters of gasoline each and introduced into a vehicle. The Guardia Civil have found 875 kilos of hashish on a wooden launch on the Tuburón beach in San Roque close to Sotogrande. The drugs were hidden in a secret compartment and the boat was found complete with its outboard motor and some food in its interior. Officers took the boat from the Club de Playa area to Sotogrande port.

The family were tied up and held at gunpoint during the attack in a private gated community where the Duchess of York is a regular visitor and footballer Glenn Hoddle owns a home. During the raid, which took place at their home alongside Valderrama golf course, in Sotogrande, the thieves made off with cash, jewelry as well as numerous other valuables.Understood to be from Eastern Europe, the gang of four forced their way into the property at 9pm, when only one of the family was at home.They then laid in wait until the other three members got back a short time later, before tying them all up.Security has been stepped up in the urbanisation, which has its own private security firm and checkpoints to get in and out.
It is understood to be the first time thieves have used weapons on a raid in the estate.They had previously used gas sprays or raided when the occupants were not at home
