The BOJA Official Bulletin in Andalucía has published the law placing a tax on the sale of single-use plastic bags in shops and supermarkets.
The tax came into effect on Friday with the objective of reducing pollution and protecting the environment.
The tax for this year is 5 cents per bag, but goes up to 10 cents in 2012.
Shops will have to clear the tax they have collected every quarter, and make the corresponding payment in the first 20 days of April, July, October and January.
